I bought this bootie one year ago from DSW called the Madden Girl Ruebe Bootie. I got it in an olive color since green is my favorite color but I also thought it was a casual enough color that would go well with jeans or shorts. There were so many great reviews for it online and it ranged in price from $30-40, which makes it a very affordable bootie. I really liked the stitching and the cap toe added a nice touch when looking down at it while wearing it. It’s also easy to put on since there’s a side zipper. The material seems like of suede material but is actually of faux nubuck (actual nubuck is cowhide leather that has been rubbed on the outer side of the hide to give it a feel like that of suede). The sole is only 1″ high, so is quite comfortable to wear for extended walks. But can be more rugged, yet for the price and the brand, it was sufficient if I wore it for casual outings and not through a rain/snow storm/mountain hikes. I can see myself wearing this through fall, winter, and spring seasons.
I’ve had it for about a year now and have gotten a lot of wear from it. This doesn’t mean that the boot looks all beaten up but mostly worn parts on the bottom sole and scrape marks on the upper material. The stitching are all still in place and nothing is coming apart. But the one area that I’ve had to struggle with from time to time is when the laces loosen off from the top area and I would need to get them hooked back on those lace hooks to hold them up again. I am looking to purchasing a similar style again as it goes so very well with most of the things I wear to school or weekend city outings. It’s no longer available, but there’s a similar one at DSW (Madden Girl Rangerrr Bootie) and Amazon. But there isn’t an olive color one, so I will have to wait. I am overall very satisfied with this Madden Girl’s boot design and would buy again from their brand line.
